Join the Labs

AS220 Labs is a membership driven technology lab and teaching space. Membership dues are our primary source of revenue to cover overhead costs - we all chip in to pay rent and cover the cost of the machines. Anyone can become a member of the labs, no previous technical experience is required. Members have different levels of involvement and roles in the labs. The community of users is diverse and brings in people from all sorts of artistic and technical backgrounds. There are different membership options available to suit people's various need for the space. Keep reading below to find out more.

Become a Member of the AS220 Industries 

Annual Membership Fee - $40. This is a payment that all members pay as a "security deposit" on using the space. It covers access to the space, tools, computers, and internet. It does not cover the cost of using the digital fabrication machines - laser cutter, vinyl cutter, milling machine, 3D printer. Become a member of the labs at the online store, or come by the labs and sign up there - we accept cash or checks.

Shop Time & Machine Access

To use our digital fabrication tools, we require all members to be trained or have previous experience using the machines. If a member is coming from a different fab lab, they can schedule an appointment with the Labs Manager for clearance on the machine. We also require a fee for using the machines, this is due to the expensive upkeep of the machines and helps maintain the space.

Monthly Memberships

Monthly "Maker" Member - $80/month, unlimited access to the shop during open hours. 
Monitor Member - $30/month, volunteer one block of time per week, unlimited access to the shop during open hours.
Key Members - $50/month, volunteer one block of time per week, attend monthly meetings, 24/7 key fob access to the shop, locked storage space.

Membership Contract

All members are required to fill out a contract and drop it off at the labs before they start accessing the space. You may click on the link below to download a digital copy, print it out, fill it out and drop it off the next time you come down to the space. Or you can grab at the Labs and fill it out there.
