Teach a Course

We are committed not only to providing quality tools and facilities for our members' creative efforts but also encouraging the creative process in others. We encourage our members to become instructors. You might teach one of our regular courses, develop a new curriculum or lead a one time workshop.

Class Proposals

Any member with an idea for a new class is welcome to submit a proposal. The proposal does not need to be extremely verbose. However, your proposal should include:

  • Course Description
  • Outline of Class Content
  • Proposed Duration
  • Estimated Materials List and Costs
  • Suggested Maximum Class Size
  • Suggested Course Fee

We generally schedule our courses by the quarter and need to finalize the class schedule 1 month before each quarter. So this means think ahead if you can.

How to Become an Instructor

First, you need to be a member of the Labs before you can become an instructor. Contact James for more details. Instructors are paid the AS220's Equal Pay hourly rate of $17/hour. We strive to keep our courses as inexpensive as possible. Though, course fees are used to cover the instructor's pay as well as general fund raising for the labs.
